Emily joined SEI-US in March 2016 as a Staff Scientist in the Climate and Energy Group. She focuses on energy system modeling to inform policy development and provides support and training to the worldwide community of Long-range Energy Alternatives Planning system (LEAP) users.
Prior to joining SEI, Emily worked at a global engineering consulting firm as a project engineer in the municipal water and wastewater sector for seven years. Her professional experience ranges from completing environmental assessments and water system modeling studies to leading detailed engineering projects for water and wastewater infrastructure, including pumping stations and treatment plants. She also has completed several studies related to resource recovery at wastewater treatment plants, with particular focus on implementing energy efficient processes and harnessing the energy potential in biosolids to generate clean energy.
Emily has an M.Sc. in Environmental Technology, specializing in Global Environmental Change and Policy, from the Centre of Environmental Policy at Imperial College London, and a B.A.Sc. in Chemical and Environmental engineering from the University of Toronto.
