Georgia Piggot joined SEI-US in November 2016 as a Staff Scientist, based in Seattle. Her work focuses on the social dimensions of climate change mitigation.

Prior to joining SEI, Georgia taught courses on the “Sociology of Natural Resources” and “Social Research Methods” at the University of British Columbia. She previously worked on biodiversity and climate policy for the State Government of Victoria in Australia, and worked as a researcher at the University of Brighton, studying the role of values in sustainable development projects.

Georgia holds a BSc in Ecology from the University of Otago and a Master of Environmental Management from the University of Queensland. She is now completing her PhD in Sociology at the University of British Columbia.
