Navid joined SEI-US in May 2017 as a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow at University of California, Davis. His research interests include water resources management, application of remotely sensed information in hydrology and hydrometeorology, and water quality studies. At SEI-US, he is currently collaborating on the development of a high-resolution, gridded precipitation product over Bolivia, using ground-based and satellite-based precipitation models.
Prior to SEI, Navid worked in Iran as a water expert. He received his Ph.D. in water resources engineering from the University of Tehran in 2015, after working in the same field since 2009 for several Iranian engineering consulting companies. His work during those years covered hydrometeorology, urban water supply, water distribution networks, water quality studies and field sampling, treated water reuse, artificial recharge, and unconventional water utilization. In addition to his professional experience, Navid achieved the 1st rank in the nationwide Iranian graduate school (MSc.) entrance examination of water resources engineering in 2007.
