Description: SEI supported the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in a range of activities. SEI provided technical expertise in establishing procedures and methodologies for the UNFCCC secretariat for implementing Clean Development Mechanism projects. Michael Lazarus served as a member of the Methodology Panel of the CDM Executive Board, which develops the methodological rules and procedures of the Clean Development Mechanism. SEI also developed a handbook and package of training materials on the issue of GHG mitigation assessment for non-Annex I parties, and led the first UNFCCC Global Hands-on Training Workshop in Seoul, Korea in September 2005 using these materials. SEI also wrote research papers for the UNFCCC on the role of technology in adaptation, and provided technical assistance on the development of a policy framework for adaptation to climate change in developing countries.
